The Krill Project I 2019

Video 6:07 mins

Sam Mountford and Tess Campbell

The Krill Project is a collaboration between Sam Mountford, Tess Campbell and Amy Parker that was inspired by the research of Australian scientist Amanda Dawson.

Their first work combines original research material, documentation and text in a video installation set between the research aquarium at the Department of Energy and Environments - Australian Antarctic Division and the Sub-Antarctic Garden.

The second work focuses on the interior world of the scientist, incorporating footage of a critically endangered wild kelp forest.

This project was made possible with the guidance and facilitation of Amanda Dawson, Sven Gastauer, So Kawaguchi and Rob King.

Enclosure, Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, Dark Path, 14th - 23rd June 2019

Presented by Sawtooth ARI and Dark Mofo.

This project was assisted through Arts Tasmania by the Minister for the Arts.
